I’ve decided to organize a small contest for La Raffinerie jewelry ! The price: a chance to choose your favorite La Raffinerie piece. The contest is being held on my other blog called À la mode Montréal. If you don’t understand French, here are some instructions to participate.

1. Visit La Raffinerie website: www.laraffinerie.ca
2. Choose your  favorite model
3. Leave the name of your favorite model in a comment on À la mode Montreal blog post here

You have until March 3th to participate. When you leave the comment on À la mode Montreal make sure to leave a valid email address (only me can see it). If you win, I will contact you by email. For the price, I will pick three names. The winners can choose the model they want, it doesn’t have to be the one mentioned in the comment.

2011 is starting really well! There are two La Raffinerie necklaces in the February issue of Fashion Magazine !!! I’m really excited, it’s my first publication in a well-known magazine outside Québec. A big thank you to the journalist Patricia from Fashion Magazine. Here’s a sneak peak!

I think I finally found a way of taking nice jewelry pictures! I found these old postcards in a local vintage shop. Photographing jewelry is really difficult. The background is never white enough. The gold looks yellow… One good thing to work from home is the day light you can captured. When I used to work 9 to 5, I had to take pictures with so many gadgets to get the same result. Nothing beats the day light! Now, all I have to do is to take pictures between noon and 2 pm beside my window. My neighbors probably wonder what I do with my camera by the window for so long;)

More to come! I still have to think of an idea for necklaces.

Je crois que j’ai finalement trouvé le truc pour prendre des belles photos de bijoux ! J’ai trouvé des belles cartes postales anciennes dans une boutique vintage proche de chez moi. C’est très difficile de photographier des bijoux. Ce n’est jamais assez blanc. Le doré a l’air jaune…Un avantage de travailler à partir de chez soi, c’est d’avoir toute la lumière du jour. Quand je travaillais de 9 à 5, je devais utiliser tellement de gadgets pour avoir le même résultat. Rien ne bat la lumière du jour ! Maintenant, tout ce que je dois faire est photographier mes créations de ma fenêtre entre midi et 14h00. Mes voisins se demandent probablement ce que je fais à côté de la fenêtre avec ma caméra;)

Plus de photos s’en viennent ! Je dois trouver une idée pour les colliers.

I’m almost ready for the Smart Design Mart! The market is being held this weekend (Dec 3-5) in the artistic neighborhood of the Mile-End. I think this 2nd edition will be even better than the 1st ! Many new talented designers will be there. For the show, we have to do our own set-up. I’m checking a lot of blogs on design to have ideas. I’m thinking a lot of white…Will have a better idea on Wednesday when I go check the place. Stay tuned !

And of course, come and see me at my kiosk. I will have a lot of new pieces, all 25% regular price in store.

Je suis presque prête pour  Smart Design Mart ! Le marché des designers locaux a lieu ce week-end dans le quartier artistique du mile-end (3-5 déc). Cette 2e édition s’enligne pour être un succès ! Beaucoup de nouveaux designers talentueux vont être présents. Pour le marché, nous devons apporter notre propre décor. J’épluche les blogues de design pour avoir des idées. Je pense à beaucoup de blanc. À suivre…
